Men In Sheds

The old elephant house is to become a DIY workshop.
The old elephant house is a DIY workshop.

The Elephant House is home to the Cobtree Men's Shed.

This project was established in 2015 with the support of MVCP and has gained in numbers. The aim of the project is to create a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests. Members share tools and resources to work on projects of their own choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. They are places of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction.

Cobtree Men’s Shed has a well-established carpentry and wood turning workshop where the members have constructed sturdy picnic benches and planters for the café and visitor centre.

More information about the Shed can be found on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Cobtree-Mens-shed-1429407290699983/ or on their website: www.cobtree-mens-shed.uk

The Shed is usually open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 10.00am and 1.00pm. Visitors (men or women) are always welcome!
